Thanks For a Great Year!

Thank you , all, for a fantastic year! It was exciting to grow in size and performances this year (whew!). I was greatly encouraged by the hard work of the group and how well everyone sang!

Special thanks to Scott & Bob for leading the small ensembles. It’s a lot of work and the two of them did an excellent job. Thanks for your dedication to your groups and thanks to the small groups for taking on the extra load of performances during an extremely busy time.

Deb, the costumes were wonderful as ever and thanks for all the time spent in mending, making and cataloging them.

Anita, what can I say? If not for your hard work we wouldn’t have a place to sing or even know where to meet!

Sandy, thank you for being with us during your extremely difficult loss. Lyle, will be missed greatly. His presence, humor and dedication to our Lord will always be remembered, and are hallmarks of our caroling family.

It really is a great privilege to serve along side all of you!

Kevin

P.S. I did receive a last minute call from the Seahawks but it was too late. However, we are already confirmed for next year!

North Shore Rotary Event

Saturday December 1st North Shore Rotary 8:30 am-10 am Bob's Green Small Group

You'll want to show up 15 minutes early.

No candy canes are needed

This event is at Northshore Junior High just off 405 on the 160th street exit: 12101 ne 160th st bothell Wa 98011

This event is wonderful breakfast, face painting, balloon animals and a toy.  They also get to sit on Santa’s lap and get a picture with Santa.  Also for any child who is in need of a warm coat or Woodinville Rotary Club will be there to provide them with a new coat.

It is done in 2 shifts and approximately 1500 people attend

they start in the cafeteria where they are served breakfast and we have a Rotarian singing Kareoke with Christmas carols.  Then they wander across the veranda into the gym starting at about 8:30.  The gym is where the first get their pictures with Santa, while waiting in line we hope to have some entertainment to keep them occupied.(this is chccbw carolers)  While waiting for their pictures to be printed, they can go to the other side of the gym to get a new coat, if they need one, then to the Toy section to pick up a new toy, get their face painted and a balloon animal.  They finally stop and pick up their pictures and are met at the exit door with a candy cane.

Thank you for helping us with our annual Santa Breakfast this year, we really do appreciate it.

FROM EVENT HOST:

Anita Weston asked me to forward you the directions to Northshore Junior High School.

  • Northshore Junior High School

12101 NE 160th  St

Bothell, WA  98011

Traveling on 405 take the 160th St exit heading east up the hill.  Traveling east a few blocks, the school is on your right just as you dip down at the light.

You will be singing in the Gym, which as you come to the front of the school it is the building to your left, down the hallway and then the doors on your right.

We do not have a stage but we will have an area set up for you to sing.  Unfortunately we do not have a microphone either but I don’t think you will need one.

We are so looking forward to seeing you there, just show up, if you are in costume we will know who you are.

It is done in 2 shifts and approximately 1500 people attend

they start in the cafeteria where they are served breakfast and we have a Rotarian singing Karaoke with Christmas carols.  Then they wander across the veranda into the gym starting at about 8:30.  The gym is where the first get their pictures with Santa, while waiting in line we hope to have some entertainment to keep them occupied.(this is Canyon Hills Carolers) While waiting for their pictures to be printed, they can go to the other side of the gym to get a new coat, if they need one, then to the Toy section to pick up a new toy, get their face painted and a balloon animal.  They finally stop and pick up their pictures and are met at the exit door with a candy cane.

Saturday December 1st Mill Creek Town Center 3:30-5:30 Scott's Purple Small Group

We’ll need approximately 200-300 candy canes-the bags are marked in the choir room

We do not have a hostess to hand out candy canes-if you have a spouse who would like to-bring them along

We may want to carpool so that it will be easier to find parking at Mill Creek and at Country Village

we can carol exactly like we did last year. Stay away from any area that already has a band or karaoke etc going on, so there is not a competition between us and them. :)

we usually stroll/carol thru the town center, and stop at various locations and carol for 15-20 minutes in each location.

Scott: Your contact person is Linda Knox:lindak@cfundingmortgage.com

Saturday December 1st Country Village 6:30-7:30 or thereabouts-Big Blue Group-Everybody

We will want to carpool as this event is very crowded. Show up at least 15 minutes early

We will be singing on the stage in the very center of country village, near the cabooses, the pond and the chickens.

The event will already be going on when you get there, so it will be very obvious where to go.

Usually the Inglemoor High School Choir sings right before us on the same stage

You'll need 400-600 candy canes-I have bags marked in the choir room

We have 1 couple hostessing for this event. Dennis and Janine

If anyone has a spouse who would like to come along and help out hostessing-it would be great!

You wil be caroling on stage by yourselves, then an announcement will be made for Santa's arrival,

Santa will then be at the base of the stage greeting children and handing out tiny candycanes.

You continue to carol while Santa is there. til 7:30 or later depending on your leader.

Country Village informed me of the following:We are in the process of changing the Santa's flight pattern:  he will be descending from the Courtyard Hall Building and landing in front of the Toys That Teach area, away from the pond.  This will open up the viewing area so more people can see his flight.

Scott: our contact at Country Village is Leeann Tesorieri :  leeann@countryvillagebothell.com

Sunday December 2nd Molbaks 1-3 Scott's Small Purple Group

You will have 3 hosts/hostesses for this event

A Note From Anita

Good morning Carolers.

Great Practice Last Night.

I was able to stand out in the auditorium and listen to you as you sang "Carol of the Bells" and you sounded good-even without mikes! so just think how great you'll sound on Sunday with microphones :)

Friday is our opening day of caroling.

We will meet at Alderwood Mall in the Food Court by the Fireplace.

Make sure you give yourself enough Driving time and Parking time on Black Friday

We are caroling from 2-4

Then we are off to Snohomish.

Our time was originally 5-5:45, now they would like us there as close to 4:30 as possible.

We might want to carpool from Alderwood Mall-we can form carpool groups as we carol at Alderwood.

We will be singing at the corner of 1st and Avenue B

This is the main road in downtown Snohomish

right next to the river in the very center of town

We'll be singing by BIG Christmas Tree

They'll be lighting the Christmas Tree at 4pm and I believe Santa comes around that time as well.

The tree is very close to the restrooms.

The changes we made to the schedule last night were as follows:

Snohomish was originally 5-5:45

They would like us to come at 4:30, or as close to that as possible

Everett Gospel Mission:

was originally 1-2

then 12:30-1:30

now is 12:15 to 1:15
